Amakery Baker's Confections

Maya has a passion for baking, which fuels her insatiable hunger for success. She wants to be a famous baker. "What do you want to be famous for?" I ask Maya. "I want to be a famous baker because of baking good stuff" she answers.

She is only eleven. She has constantly said to me that she wants a baking business. Don't let her age fool you, this little eleven year old girl produces something of a gastronomic delight. So with a good product, a great idea, we now have a small business. Amakery Baker's Confections. While Maya is not on facebook, I have set up a facebook page for her business, which I will manage.

I have allowed Maya to have an Instagram account, so she will manage her own Instagram page for Amakery. I am hoping that she will learn the art of marketing to complement her culinary skills, that are out of this world! My sole purpose is to support her and get her to understand her business and not simply know how to bake good products. She's already doing the numbers and warned me that once she is fully capable, I will retire... That little capitalist nature in her did frighten me a great deal. Pride on the one hand, but nervousness on the other.

It's going to be a fun adventure, and I think I am equally as excited as she is. If you are in Cape Town, and you are having a dessert dillema, Amakery Baker's Confections already has two products that have been served to the market.

Lindt Chocolate Coated Marshmallow Topping Cupcakes! They are as much a mouthful as the name is to say. They make for a great dessert...

Gin And Tonic Cupcakes! This is an adult's only treat and Maya is shipping some out today to a friend of mine's 50th birthday party...

The plan is to start with five products only, and cater for parties, or any form of entertainment where you will have guests and your wish is to add that sweetness that has a certain je ne sais quoi, as the French would say.
