I suppose that is why we are called users, we are after all addicted to these smartphones. This BlackBerry ad is really funny, but if you think about it, it's not really a joke. People are walking glued to a mobile device now all the time. We don't even refer to a laptop as a mobile device, and given it is not a desktop, I am not sure what category it sits under. Look up next time you are in the mall and see what everyone else is focused on. Get in the elevator and watch how there is no more awkward silence as everyone is glued to their screens.
Phone screens are getting wider, to help for a better user experience. Where we used to want the convenience of a small handset we could slip into a small bag, or our pockets, these smartphones are getting bigger again. A big phone that we called a brick a couple of years ago, we now want as the ideal phone!
So while it's great that smartphones are getting better and better (as in smarter and smarter), what is happening to the users in this evolution?
