Beau Constantia Lucca 2012

Growing up as a sports loving, boys boy, who thought the manly thing to do as a hang out involves a pub and a beer... Well, that was me growing up. Now I have the privilege of realising I live in a country where wine is a craft attempted by many, who are doing a good job of it.

I have ventured the Constantia Vineyards, and for some reason Beau Constantia, positioned right at the top of the Constantia Nek, never cracked the nod for my attention. Well, whatever the reason, it has become a favoured spot for me to sit with friends, enjoy the views, while sipping on a bottle of The Lucca.

If I am not mistaken, the ultra premium wine is named after the child of either the owner, or wine maker. The wine is a Merlot and Cabernet Franc blend, having spent a good year and a half in French Oak barrels. I won't tell you how it tastes, but I can tell you that every time I go up there, I give myself the treat!
