Football is the world's most beautiful game they say. I went to watch my eldest daughter, Jordan, play in her under 13 game today. She's been playing for two years, and last season I missed watching her play as I had work clashes that I did not manage. Today, while I felt sick, I layered up with enough clothes to keep me warm, and resisted my flu symptoms, and went to watch her play.
She played well, she had fun, and her team won 1-2, having come from being a goal down. The results of the day got better. As we were driving back to school to drop off Jordan's friend (who is also a team mate), my youngest daughter, Maya, called me to tell me their football team won their game 1-0.
I went to see Maya's team play two weeks ago. They lost the game, but I was impressed with how well the team took it. I am enjoying being the girls' number one fan, and I can see how much it means to them that I have interest and come to their games. That's how football got dubbed as the world's most beautiful game. It really does bring people together.
