Take Time Out

To say that there was tension in the car before we got here would be an under statement. It's a friend's birthday celebration, and we are at Tweeriviersfontein, a farm where the main produce seems to be apples. The place is called Lakeside Lodge, and the name is apt given the surrounding of mountain and lake. Thinking back to how we nearly did not leave on the Friday afternoon as planned, makes me realise how ridiculous we can be in reaction to things not going as planned.

Why don't we take time out to do nothing more? Why don't we actually roll with it, and change the plan as the unpredictable pops up? To get here, and be with friends and family, and watch the sunset was soothing. Waking up to a house full of screaming kids, has never felt so right. Something magical happens when you leave the city.

You calm down, and accept things as they are, rather than try to control everything to get the outcome you want. It has even inspired me to write with a different voice to my usual one when I blog. Bliss!

We like to take time out, but why do we have to leave our homes to do it? I suppose I will take that, over not taking time out at all. Or worse, I should be grateful that even when I do get out of town, I do know how to take time out, rather than get here and still be a stress ball. Take time out, it really does your state of mind some good.
