Two Gerrard Penalty Misses And Liverpool Wins The Carling Cup Final
Victory is sweet, but sadly there is a a loser. Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard missed the first penalty of the shoot out and it seemed to be a good omen for Cardiff. Anthony Gerrard, cousin of Steven Gerrard, missed Cardiff's last penalty. The difference was the team mates between them. Football sure has drama, but an awesome victory for Liverpool and what I love about it is Steven Gerrard ran to his cousin to console him before running to his team mates to celebrate.
This Liverpool victory ends the six year trophy drought and means for the new owners and management, they have won silverware in their first full season. Significantly enough, this also means Liverpool equal Manchester United's record of most English domestic cup wins, being 15 a piece. .
